Before the cannula is inserted, our nurse will explain the reason for the insertion, she will ask for your consent, will patiently explain the procedure and only then she will commence the procedure.
What medical materials are used in the intravenous cannula fitting procedure
For an intravenous cannula fitting, we are kindly asking you to prepare the following,, before the arrival of The Care Hub nurse:
- 1-2 blue coloured cannulas (G 22),
- sanitary alcohol and cotton wool (or alcohol pads) for the cannula insertion site
- adhesive strips to stabilize the cannula,
- 10 ml syringe and
- 10 ml normal saline 0.9 %.
